Our son Justin was 18 years old and a terrific athlete, talented musician and honor student at his high school in Georgia. Unfortunately, Justin was also an addict, and his addiction was taking him down a destructive path. After treatment at Cumberland Heights in Nashville, we were looking for a halfway house that would provide the structure and support to help Justin stay on track, and the flexibility to allow him to attend Belmont University as a full-time student.
Our first attempt at a halfway house failed – the environment and strict rules did not allow Justin to pursue his college goals. Then we found R&R Transitional Housing.
From the very first meeting with Ryan Hunt, both we and Justin could tell that this would be the right fit. R&R provided Justin the faith-based support, the right level of structure and discipline, strong comradery, and the encouragement and flexibility to attend Belmont and pursue his educational and musical dreams.
Justin thrived at R&R, staying clean, regaining his pride and self esteem, excelling in school, and developing new friendships. The owners of R&R took personal interest in Justin, as they do all of their tenants, and their strong network of sponsors and former tenants in Nashville became a rock of support for Justin as he began his life anew.
R&R is a terrific organization and we continue to stay in touch and sponsor Ryan Hunt and Ryan Chapman in their efforts to provide a unique place for renewal and growth for recovering addicts.
We would strongly recommend R&R to any of our friends, family or anyone else that is looking for a place for their loved one to recover.
